About us

We are the Dorsetts. Wes and Megan grew up in Pittsburg, TX. Wes was raised learning the value of hard work on a dairy/chicken farm from a young age. His dad, Kenny who recently passed away, was a true cowboy and is also who you see pictured on horseback on our home page. A lot of life lessons were learned for Wes growing up. It was not uncommon for him to be found feeding or working cattle, raking hay in the summer, or having to milk early in the mornings. It was during these times that Wes found his love for the farm and raising cattle. Although things have evolved this was his foundation that started our journey into the beef business.

As high school sweethearts we were put to the test after graduation as Wes went to Northeast Texas Community College and then University of Reno Nevada chasing his baseball dream and Megan went to East Texas Baptist University to pursue her degree in nursing.

After college we got married in 2006 and Megan went to work delivering babies as a labor and delivery nurse and Wes started teaching and coaching. In 2008 our first daughter, Lilly, was born. That is also when we bought our first herd of 10 momma cows and a bull. Not knowing where we would end up we simply fed the cattle and sold thier babies at a local auction to help offset some of the costs of raising them.

Now, almost 15 years later, add two more kids (Judson and Zoe) and a lot more cows, our dream of providing quality beef from our farm to your table is becoming a reality. We have learned a lot through the process of getting to where we are. We started selling farm fresh beef to just a few families and quickly realized how much of an impact this process could have on our family as well as serving the families we sold to. As we endured droughts in 2011 and 2022 and of course the epic 2020, we have found that we want to provide a quality product for more and more families in East Texas and surrounding areas.

God has blessed us with the opportunity to provide fresh, farm to table beef that is hormone and antibiotic free. Our cattle are free to graze our pastures and in the winter eat the hay that we have grown for them, Each steer is finished with grain that is specially blended for our cattle to support the type of growth they need to give you the best product.

Above all else our mission is to serve Christ by serving others.
